Invitation letter

Canada does not have visa waiver agreement with Russia, therefore, you should obtain visa prior to coming to the Russian Federation.

There are two main types of visas:

 tourist visa (short term)

 business visa (long-term)

Tourist visa is issued for up to 30 days and allows a maximum of 2 entries to Russia. This type of visa is issued on the basis of a special document called tourist voucher.

Business (long term) visa is issued on the basis of an invitation from specifically approved companies upon request of the Federal Migration Service Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These visas could be issued for a period of 3, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48 and 60 months.

You may rely on us with the complete visa process including translations, legalization, invitation, application, sending and collecting your documents.

Tourist invitations could be issued by Russian and foreign specialized travel companies accredited by the Ministry of Tourism of Russia. Such invitation consists of a standard form of a strict accountability with a company stamp, signed by the director, indicating the route of travel and tourist information. To obtain a visa at the embassy, it is generally sufficient to present a copy of the voucher.

Business invitation (company letter) is a letter on a letterhead from a company entitled to request visa assistance for foreigners. This type of an invitation can serve as grounds for issuance of a visa for a period of 3 months to 5 years, depending on the nationality of the invitee, number of his or her previous visits to the Russian Federation, and other factors. It is enough to submit original or a copy of such letter to the Embassy for visa request.

Invitation on the form of the Federal Migration Service Ministry (FMS) – this type of invitation is required for people who are looking to obtain a visa for a year, but haven’t visited the Russian Federation before, narrow field specialists (pilots, highly qualified specialists) and other categories of citizens. This invitation is issued in the Federal Migration Service Ministry of Russia, upon a personal request of a representative of a company accredited by the Federal Migration Service Ministry. Turnaround time for invitation is 14 to 21 days. Please note: in order to obtain a visa the original invitation must be submitted to the Embassy.

TELEX invitation – An invitation telegram which comes directly to the Russian Embassy in the country issuing the visa. It is requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Non-profit organizations that have passed accreditation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have a right to order this type of invitations. It is the fastest version of the invitation, in cases where it is impossible to use the business letter. When placing an invitation through telex, a foreign citizen is provided with the information on the inviting company (to complete the questionnaire for the visa at the consulate) and the individual visa reference number which has to be used upon contacting the embassy or consulate for a visa to Russia.

Our company can issue all kinds of invitations to Russia. Company letters for 3-60 months and tourist invitations can be provided within 1 working day. Telex and Federal Migration Service Ministry invitations are issued within 14-21 calendar days. Invitations for Work Visa are issued within 30-45 calendar days.
